Brunellia, Congo Brazzaville
"Hi everyone! I am from Congo Brazzaville, and I had studied at ALA from level 2 to level 5. ALA is a school that offers an exceptional learning environment with dedicated teachers who always strive to support students in the best way possible. My experience at this school was truly remarkable, and I am incredibly grateful to the teachers who guided and encouraged me throughout my journey to learn English. I still remember when I first arrived at ALA , I only had basic knowledge of English and struggled to write or speak correctly. However, thanks to the support and commitment of my teachers, I was able to make significant progress. By the time I completed my studies, I had gained a solid grasp of the language and could express myself much more confidently in English. One of the most memorable moments of my time at ALA was my graduation day. It was such a special day that marked the end of my journey at this school and the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The school organized a wonderful graduation meal for the graduating students, and we had a fantastic time celebrating together.
I sincerely thank ALA for providing such a warm and enriching experience, and I will always cherish the moments I spent there."
Mohamed Alfeki, Egypt
"I am from Egypt, some of my favorite memories from my hometown include walking along the Nile River, enjoying late-night gatherings with friends and family, and experiencing the vibrant street life of Cairo.
I came one year ago to improve my English and further my education. My first memory at ALA includes the welcoming environment and the supportive teachers who made learning engaging and fun. On my graduation day, I felt proud of how much my English had improved and grateful for the friends I made along the way. Studying at ALA has helped me both personally and professionally. I have become more confident in communicating in English. The teachers at ALA were always patient and encouraging; making sure I understood everything and progressed steadily.
One of the best experiences at ALA was the interactive learning style, which made classes engaging and practical. The teachers were always patient and encouraging, providing helpful feedback and making sure I understood the material. The staff at ALA were also very supportive, always ready to assist with any questions or concerns. I really liked the facilities at Ala, especially the comfortable classrooms and the resources available for students.
My personal goal is to continue improving my communication skills. Professionally, I aim to continue my studies and work on research. Strong English skills are crucial for collaborating teams and contributing to scientific advancement.
I would definitely recommend ALA to anyone who wants to learn English. My advice for newcomers to the U.S, is to practice English as much as possible with English Speakers.
I would advise them to connect with people and not be afraid to make mistakes while speaking. Embrace the new culture and always be positive."

Karen Kwarteng, Ghana
"Hi my name is Karen Kwarteng. A Ghanaian citizen currently in the United States to pursue my Masters degree . I am currently studying English language at American Language Academy . I joined the Academy in September 2024, I have gained invaluable skills and knowledge that have greatly enhanced my language abilities. Even though English is taught in Ghana, the academy has challenged me to improve my English proficiency through engaging lessons and interactive activities.
One of the most significant benefits has been the opportunity to practice speaking with both teachers and fellow students. This has helped me build my confidence in conversations and also made it very easy for me to properly construct my sentences. Additionally, the diverse cultural environment has enriched my learning experience, allowing me to appreciate different perspectives.
The courses are well-structured, focusing on essential language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The supportive instructors provide personalized feedback, helping me identify areas for improvement and celebrate my progress.
Overall, my time at the American Language Academy has not only improved my English skills but also expanded my horizons, preparing me for future academic and professional opportunities"

Yi Dai Chongqing, China
“I am a foreign student with a multicultural perspective in education. I’m in the second year of my Ph.D. program in Educational Leadership at the University of Arizona in Tucson… I moved to the USA to start my American educational experience; first studying English language at American Language Academy, which has indeed added a lot to my professional literacy skills. I had never been exposed to English language to such extent previously. This is because I have grown up in a family where Arabic language has been given first priority and I was never exposed to the English language on such an academic level before. Throughout my learning experience at American Language Academy, I learned the English language from scratch, speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I worked on different writing styles like narrative writing, rhetoric analysis of papers, and argumentative and persuasive styles of writing. These are some of the examples of works that I learned and excelled at in my overall learning experience at American Language Academy.” -Amani Albarkati

I really like the intensive program. I had experience with another school and ALA is the best school. I see a big difference; ALA is more individual and academic. Our teachers are very good because they give good explanations and they care about every student. I like our new classrooms, too, because they’re new and bright and have big windows. "I needed to find some program to improve my grammar. It’s still a challenge for me. I found the American Language Academy through Guilford Technical Community College. It’s a lot of hours so you learn a lot of things. The classes are divided into speech and writing. This is good. When I write, I still have a lot of mistakes so I need to practice. In class, we have to talk a lot and I like that. We talk about different cultures and what my country has and what another culture has. Now we are working on a speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. I had to do an oral presentation which was nice because I could talk in public. The teachers are fun and they are very patient."
