Introduction

Sky Campus instruction is delivered through both asynchronous and synchronous approaches to create an interactive and effective distance learning environment. Using the Canvas Learning Management System and Microsoft Teams, our format allows instructors to communicate directly with students and provide live online instruction when scheduled.

Program Delivery and Specialty Course Delivery

Instructors present prepared materials using PowerPoint or other resources uploaded to the screen. A virtual whiteboard may be frequently used, enabling collaboration between students and teachers through written contributions visible to the entire class. Students can ask and answer questions both verbally and through the chat box. Instructors also engage students in pair or small-group activities using breakout sessions, where students interact directly with one another. All external documents uploaded by instructors, as well as whiteboard annotations from whole-class and small-group sessions, can be saved for future reference.
Through Canvas, instructors share additional print, audio, and video resources, assign homework, and facilitate asynchronous and synchronous learning activities such as discussion forums—like our face-to-face classrooms.

Assessments

Both written and oral assessments are conducted as a passing requirement. Oral assessments take place in real time using Teams, allowing instructors to accurately evaluate speaking skills and comprehension. Written and reading assessments are delivered through Canvas, with instructors monitoring students via secure proctoring tools to ensure academic integrity. Classes are recorded during delivery and made immediately available for students to review. This synchronous, interactive distance format closely simulates an authentic classroom environment.

Certification

At the end of each successfully completed IEP, EAP, or Youth Program level, students receive an ALA Certificate of Promotion. This certificate is the same as the one awarded in our face‑to‑face EAP courses and is equivalent to the corresponding IEP certificate.
At the end of all specialty courses, students receive an ALA Course Completion Certificate.

Youth Program Benefits

Why Families Choose ALA’s Youth Program
ALA’s Youth Program offers far more than English instruction—it provides a structured, future‑focused pathway that prepares students academically, socially, and personally for success in university settings. Families who choose this program gain confidence knowing their child is learning in a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment designed specifically for early years to high school learners.

A Direct Pathway to University Success
One of the strongest advantages of ALA’s Youth Program is its direct connection to higher education. ALA maintains partnerships with over 100 universities across the United States and continues to build relationships with institutions in select countries. These partnerships recognize the strength of ALA’s curriculum and the academic readiness of its graduates.

For qualified students, this means a powerful opportunity:
Transition directly from ALA into a university program, often without needing additional English proficiency exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC.
This removes a major barrier for international students and gives families confidence that their child’s hard work at ALA leads to real, tangible opportunities.

Personalized University Preparation for Every Student
Beginning in 10th grade, students receive individualized support from a dedicated University Preparation Advisor. This advisor works closely with each student and family to guide them through every step of the admissions process, including:

  • Completing university applications
  • Preparing writing samples and personal statements
  • Practicing for admissions interviews
  • Understanding scholarship and financial‑aid options
  • Organizing academic and personal documents
  • Navigating international student requirements
  • Completing visa preparation for students planning to study in the U.S.

This level of personalized guidance ensures that students—and their families—never have to navigate the complex admissions process alone.

A Flexible, High‑Quality Academic Environment
Parents often seek programs that balance academic rigor with flexibility, and ALA’s Youth Program is designed with exactly that in mind. Students who are managing school, extracurricular activities, and family responsibilities can still participate fully in a structured, high‑quality academic program that strengthens:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening
  • Academic and critical thinking

The curriculum is developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the expectations of U.S. high schools and universities.

A Safe, Supportive Community for Growing Learners
Parents can feel confident knowing their child is learning in an environment that prioritizes safety, respect, and academic growth. ALA’s instructors are trained to support diverse learners, encourage participation, and help students build the confidence they need to thrive in academic settings.
Students also benefit from:

  • Small class sizes
  • Individualized feedback
  • Interactive lessons
  • Opportunities for leadership and collaboration
  • Digital tools that keep families informed and connected

A Strong Foundation for a Bright Future
By the time students complete the Youth Program, they are not only stronger English speakers—they are prepared thinkers, confident communicators, and motivated learners ready to begin their university journey.

Parents who choose ALA are choosing a program that:

  • Builds essential academic skills
  • Provides a clear pathway to university admission
  • Offers personalized advising and support
  • Creates a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
  • Helps students develop the confidence and independence needed for future success

University Preparation

ALA’s Youth Program provides a direct pathway to higher education through its extensive network of university partnerships and personalized admissions support. ALA maintains established connections with over 100 universities in the United States and continues to build strategic relationships with institutions in select countries. These partnerships allow qualified students to transition directly from ALA into a university program, often without the need for additional English proficiency exams, including tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC. Students who complete the required ALA academic levels demonstrate the language and academic readiness that partner institutions recognize for admission.
Beginning in 10th grade, every student is paired with a dedicated University Preparation Advisor who guides them through each step of the admissions process. This individualized support may include:
  • Completing university applications
  • Preparing writing samples and personal statements
  • Practicing for admissions interviews
  • Understanding scholarship and financial‑aid options
  • Organizing required academic and personal documents
  • Navigating international student requirements
  • Completing visa preparation and documentation for students planning to begin their university studies in the United States
Through this structured, student‑centered approach, ALA ensures that learners not only build strong academic English and foundational skills but also gain the confidence, knowledge, and support needed to begin their university life successfully.

ALA Youth Program

Preparing Future University Students Through Academic English and Foundational Skills
The Youth Program is an extended, developmentally appropriate version of ALA’s academic English curriculum, designed specifically for young learners who plan to pursue higher education in and outside of the United States. This program provides a strong foundation in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and math (coming soon), helping students build the academic skills, study habits, and confidence needed for future university success.
ALA’s Youth Program is an excellent option for families seeking a safe, supportive, and academically focused environment for their child. Designed with flexibility in mind, the program allows students to maintain their school, extracurricular, and family commitments while still engaging in high‑quality, structured academic instruction. It provides the guidance and stability students need as they work toward long‑term academic and university‑preparation goals.
